The Babysitter Murderer (The Reboot)
I revamped this cocktail to better reflect the flavors of fall, moving away from the summery vibes of the original. I felt like the original was incredibly tasty but wasn’t meant to be enjoyed while watching Halloween. Or maybe it was, considering Halloween was filmed in May in Pasadena.
This rebooted cocktail is all about creating a cozy, festive atmosphere. I've infused the whiskey with vanilla bean, star anise, cinnamon, and clove, crafting a complex flavor profile perfect for those snug gatherings and lively celebrations. It's like sipping on a pumpkin spice whiskey but without the harsh chemical taste . The fig jam adds a sweet, rich texture, giving the drink a beautiful, hazy look that's reminiscent of a foggy fall night.
Of course it can’t be a Crimson+Crown drink without the pomegranate blood drip. I promise to maybe figure out another blood drip one day. But that’s not today.
In essence, this cocktail reboot embraces the original while (hopefully) giving it the upgrade it deserves! Let me know what you think; Was this reboot a success or a flop?
