A layered cocktail to celebrate one of the most celebrated horror films to date

Ingredients

For the blood drip

  • Pomegranate juice

For the pumpkin vodka

  • Vodka of your choice

  • Pumpkin puree

  • Pumpkin pie spices

For the cocktail

  • Pomegranate juice

  • Vodka of your choice


Instructions

For the Pumpkin Vodka

  1. A few hours to days before, add three heaping scoops of pumpkin puree and about three tablespoons of pumpkin pie spices to a mason jar

  2. Fill with your vodka of choice and leave about an inch of headspace

  3. Shake your ingredients together and store the jar in your fridge or somewhere dark and cool

For the Pomegranate blood drip

  1. In a pot, turn the heat to low and pour in about 1/2 cup of pomegranate juice

  2. Stir every 5 minutes and wait till the juice has reduced to a quarter of what it was

  3. Remove from the heat and pour into a jar to cool down

Build your shot

  1. Pour your pumpkin vodka about halfway up your shot glass

  2. Using your bar spoon, place it in your shot glass and touch the bottom. Hold your spoon steady and pour the pomegranate juice carefully down the spoon stem.

  3. The pomegranate juice should drop down below the pumpkin vodka

  4. If you have room, gently top the rest of your shot with the vodka of your choice

  5. Using a bar spoon, carefully spoon on the rim the pomegranate blood drip and enjoy!
