What is Aquavit?

Aquavit is gaining some popularity in the States lately but is the national spirit of Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. It is generally served chilled and straight up. It is similar to vodka and gin in how it is produced, and if unaged might taste like vodka. Aquavit generally will be flavored with aromatics like dill, fennel, anise, and clove. While it might be difficult to find in smaller liquor stores, most chains and restaurants should carry at least one option.
